About

Malou Airaudo worked with many famous choreographers and companies of the 20th centuries: Pina Bausch, Operà de Marseille, Ballet Russes de Monte Carlo, Manuel Alum, Paul Sanasardo or Carolyn Carlson. She was a professor of Modern Dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen for 34 years and directed its Institute of Contemporary Dance for seven years.

This encounter was recorded during the Pandemic. It reveals an intimate insight into the uncompromising life of a passionate and dedicated artist who has always followed what life has offered to her. It has not always been easy, it required working very hard but she believes that loving what you do is very important.

"This is not fair to do all your life something that you don't love,
that you don't want, just to earn money. This is not good.
It's very hard, of course, but it's not good.
I don't try to give you a lesson when I speak -
I just think about what I felt with my life.
I think everybody should do what they love.
That's all!"
