Ken Ludden’s Né: Roi – A Ballet in Three Acts


Né: Roi which means ‚Born: King‘, was created by Ken Ludden. The production is a three-act story ballet being created through an unprecedented international collaboration. David Pyke (Australia) is composing the score, Alexander Walker (London) is Music Director and Conductor, Loron Lavoie (NY) and Rita Dunn (Washington) are doing visual designs, and other artists involved come from Japan, Belarus, Germany, Austria, South Africa, Iceland, France, Russia, Poland and Latvia. A worldwide series of 2-week masterclasses at the leading dance academies around the world began in 2016 and will continue through 2025 to create choreography.

Soloists of Miami City Ballet and young dancers of australian ballett acadamies danced in Né: Roi Selections in Mackay Selection world premiere on Thursday July 26 2018 during Mackay’s Festival of the Arts.

World Premiere of Grand Pas de Deux „Supreme“ from „Ne: Roi“ at Edinburgh Festival 2017 74th International Choreographers Showcase. Supreme is a male/male pas de deux about two young friends who are competing with each other.
